GRASSROOTS OUTREACH ORGANIZER

Verbatim’s Grassroots Outreach Organizers call people who may have a vested interest in public policy decisions at the federal, state, and local levels. Our outreach professionals put their communications skills to work as they connect people from across the country with their public officials. 

Verbatim’s multi-step selection process enables us to find the best talent for our projects. We’ll also provide you with lots of information along the way, so you can determine if this home-based contracting opportunity is right for you.

Independence
All Grassroots Outreach Professionals are independent contractors. Enjoy the freedom of project-based work and flexible self-scheduling.

Work-from-home convenience
Commute only to the home office you create. All you need are some basic computer equipment and a high-speed internet connection

Variety
Each project is unique. The policy issues vary widely, and projects may last a few days or a few months.

Work/life balance
Plan your work around the rest of your life. Use our online system to self-schedule 1-hour time blocks that work best for you.

Flexible hours
Available hours differ by project, but evening and Saturday hours are typically offered. Great for professionals who have other commitments during regular business hours.

Rapid Start
Client demand varies, but our goal is always to put you on the next available project. Sometimes in as little as three days!

Learn
Our team will guide you to effectively communicate public policy issues and covert personal interests and passions into meaningful advocacy.

Worry-free invoicing
Our system tracks your hours while you work, and we handle the rest. We collect project fees from clients and issue payments to contractors on a weekly basis.

Support
You’ll be an independent contractor, but you won’t go it alone. Experienced project leaders and editors will provide the support you need to succeed.

What to expect when you apply

  • Click on the "Apply Now" button at the bottom of this page and follow the instructions to submit your information to be considered.

  • If your goals and motivations seem like a good fit for Verbatim, you will receive an email inviting you to call us and introduce yourself in a voicemail message. This allows us to evaluate your phone skills.

  • If your audition goes well, we will schedule a phone call to further discuss your experience and answer any questions you may have.

  • Approved contractors will enter into an independent contractor agreement with Verbatim. The agreement will be sent for your review and signature.

  • The self-guided process to get set up can be completed at your own pace. Most contractors complete the steps, including set-up of the web platforms, in 2 to 4 days.

  • You will sign up for a live overview call with your team leader and begin to build your schedule.
